Most mobile devices use a lithium-ion battery. These are very compact and can store a large charge when compared to their size, This is why every smartphone that is sold today uses this battery technology.

Using proper charging methods and storage will help increase the life span of these types of batteries and also extend the life of your smartphone.

One mistake people make is storing their smartphone or laptop in a hot zone such as the automobile during a hot summer day. It is best to keep lithium-ion batteries at room temperature. Don't leave the device in your automobile when the weather is warm. Your car heats upside because of the greenhouse effect.

It might only be 75 degrees Fahrenheit outside however it can reach over 100 degrees in your vehicle if the sun is shining. This is especially bad if you leave your smartphone or laptop charging in your car.

When you need to store your mobile device that is using a lithium-ion battery for an extended period of time, keep it in a cool place. Discharge the battery to about 40 percent of its charging capacity.

Storing your lithium-ion battery in the refrigerator would be great, but don't store it in the ice-box. Also, understand that storing your lithium-ion fully charged mean the battery is oxidizing at the maximum rate. This oxidation activity will decrease the life of your battery and you will eventually have to replace it.

The replacement will be expensive and often inconvenient. If you own an older mobile device it could be difficult to source a replacement battery that is designed for your device.

Batteries will lose their ability to hold a charge over time, even if they are not being used. In fact, in certain conditions, a battery being used on a regular basis will live just as long as one that is not being used over the same amount of time.

Every time you charge the battery in your mobile device charging capacity will degrade slightly. This is to be expected. However, if you properly take care of the mobile device and consider the methods of extending the life of your devised battery you will save money in the long run.

Best Regards
